Poker Pursuit

Poker Pursuit is a game where you can increase your winnings by increasing the number of coins bet. You are dealt three cards and can choose to raise your bet by one coin, or call for another card without increasing your bet. There are no wild cards and the maximum payout is 3,000 coins.

The object of the game is to maximize your winnings and keep your loses to a minimum.

Playing Poker Pursuit

A game of Poker Pursuit consists of three phases. At the end of each phase, you can choose to either call or raise. You then proceed to the next phase.

If you call, your bet is not increased by one coin and another card is displayed.

If you raise, your bet is increased by one coin and another card is displayed. Each time you raise, your bet is increased by one coin and your winnings are increased according to the Payout Schedule.

To play a game of Poker Pursuit, do the following:

Click the Increase (+) or Decrease (-) button to increase or decrease the coin size you want to bet.

Note:

Your total bet amount is the number of coins bet, multiplied by the coin size.
One coin is selected by default when you begin a game.

Click the Deal button. A hand of three cards is dealt to you.
If you have a winning combination, the win is highlighted on the Payout Schedule. You can either:

Raise
Click the Raise button. This starts the second phase. Your bet is increased by one coin and a fourth card is dealt to you.

Call
Click the Call button. This starts the second phase. You are dealt a fourth card.

Note:
Your bet does not increase.

If you have a winning combination, the win is highlighted on the Payout Schedule. You can either:

Raise
Click the Raise button. This starts the third phase. Your bet is increased by one coin and a fifth card is dealt to you.

Call
Click the Call button. This starts the third phase. You are dealt a fifth card.

Note:
Your bet does not increase.

If you have a winning combination, you are paid out the win amount as reflected in the Win box.
If you do not have a winning combination, the game is over and you can play a new hand.

Payout Schedule

The Payout Schedule summarizes the game Payout Table.

Note:
All figures show the number of coins that are won for each combination. The value of credits won depend on the number of coins you bet and the coin size you selected.

The Poker Hands

Royal Flush

This is a combination of the following cards of the same suit: Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten.

Example:

Straight Flush

This is a combination of five cards of the same suit in sequence.

Example:

Four of a Kind

This is a combination of four cards of the same denomination.

Example:

Full House

This is a combination of three cards of the same denomination, and two cards of another denomination.

Example:

Flush

This is a combination of five cards of the same suit.

Example:

Straight

This is a combination of five cards of any suit in sequence.

Example:

Three of a Kind

This is a combination of three cards of the same denomination, and any two other cards.

Example:

Two Pairs

This is a combination of two denominative pairs and any other card.

Example:

Tens or Better

This is a combination of either a pair of 10's, Jacks, Queens, Kings or Aces, and three unmatched cards.

Poker Pursuit Features

The following diagram shows the features of the Poker Pursuit screen. Note: Position your mouse pointer over the graphic to identify the screen features. To view the description of a feature, click the required area of the graphic.


Game Features
Play Area Displays the table layout. Payout Table A list of winning card combinations, and the amount they pay out. It has the following additional function: - All winning combinations are highlighted on the Payout Table.
Game Controls
Deal button Starts a game of Poker Pursuit. You are dealt three cards. Call button Once the cards are dealt and you do not have a winning combination, click the Call button. Your bet is not increased. You are dealt another card. This minimizes the amount you lose on a non-winning combination. Raise button Once the cards are dealt and you have a winning combination, click the Raise button. Your bet is increased by one coin and you are dealt another card. This maximizes the amount you win on a winning combination. Increase (+) and Decrease (-) buttons Used to change the amount you want to bet.
Common Controls
Exit button Opens the Casino menu. Help button Opens the help file for the game you are currently playing. Bank button Opens the Banking screen. Options button Opens the game Options dialog box. Note: This button is only available in the Casino Menu.
Screen Features
Credits box Displays your current credit balance. Bet box Displays your total bet amount. This is automatically deducted from your credit balance. Win box Displays the credits you were paid for your last win. This is automatically added to your credit balance. Information bar Displays information about the current game. For example, how many coins you won. The information bar is situated at the top of the Casino screen. Casino icon Opens the Casino Fly-out menu.

How To...

Change the Coin Size Bet

To place a bet, do the following:

Click the Increase (+) button to increase the amount you want to bet.
Click the Decrease (-) button to decrease the amount you want to bet.

Exit a Game

To exit a game, do the following:

Click the Exit button. The Casino menu is displayed.
Select another game to play, or exit the Casino.

Disconnect from the Casino

To disconnect from the Casino, do the following:

If you are playing a game, click the Exit button. The Casino menu is displayed.
Click the Disconnect button. You are disconnected from the Casino.

Note:
To exit the Casino click the X button in the top right hand corner of the screen. The Casino is closed.
